About the Program

The New Brighton Ambassador Program is a scholarship opportunity that empowers young leaders with the tools to help enhance their futures for generations.  The program develops leadership skills through volunteerism, civic events, and hones areas such as public speaking and poise.  The program is operated by a committee of coordinators with help from our wonderful sponsors as well as community and alumni volunteers.

We offer a month-long candidacy experience in July, ending in August at the annual coronation, where the new ambassadors and junior ambassadors are selected to represent the city of New Brighton for the following year.  The candidate experience includes participating in the city's Stockyard Days Festival events, public appearances at many civic events including the Eagles' Auxiliary pancake breakfast and taco fundraiser, as well as appearances with the current ambassadors in parades and coronations.  The newly selected royal family will serve a year-long reign in which they attend events and festivals around the state as well as volunteering and community service within the community.
